Northern Maine Development Commission offers many services to local businesses within the region. From business financing to training and technical assistance, NMDC can help your growing or established business where it needs it most.

Business Finance Department - works with you as an exiting business or a new business prospect to develop the best possible financing plan utilizing local, state and federal programs that are available. We will work with you and your designated primary lender to develop a financial plan that will accomplish your goals, assure you longevity and be acceptable in the market to your lender. Prior analysis and preparation helps to assure your success in structuring your plan. By staying abreast of all local, state and federal programs you can be assured of up to date accurate information in making your determination.

Maine Small Business Development Centers (Maine SBDC) - dedicated to helping Maine’s small businesses succeed by engaging in development activities that contribute to the improvement of the economic climate for and the success of micro and small businesses throughout the State of Maine. Small business counselors provide guidance in areas such as writing business plans, marketing plans, cash flow management, and more, all free of charge.

Business Development and Advocacy Program:
Provides local businesses with an advocate to help solve problems and seize new opportunities, from assisting through permitting processes to finding export opportunities and accessing financial resources. NMDC serves as your direct link to the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development's business development services.

Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership:
Assists local manufacturers in becoming more competitive with new manufacturing and management technologies. Local companies can gain access to more than 2,000 manufacturing and business specialists, including the entire staff of Maine MEP with their specialized knowledge of doing business in Maine.
