Fish River Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan Implementation

  • Assist in developing and installing Gateway Signage for entry points on to the Byway in Fort Kent and Portage
  • Compile a Comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) database of Scenic, Historic, Recreational, and Cultural Assets for future marketing, promotion, planning and mapping applications.
  • Advocate for Corridor Management Plan adoption by local legislative body in each of the Byway communities
  • Seek development and completion of small projects at Soldier Pond and other locations
  • Carry out Public Awareness Program to gain broad-based community support for Byway efforts
  • Explore and develop sources of funding to sustain ongoing Byway activities
  • Represent the Byway at Annual Maine Scenic Byway Conference

Million Dollar View Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan Implementation

  • Compile a Comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) database of Scenic, Historic, Recreational, and Cultural Assets for future marketing, promotion, planning and mapping applications.
  • Advocate for Corridor Management Plan adoption by local legislative body in Danforth and Orient consistent with comprehensive plans.
  • Complete the design and installation of Interpretive Panels at Scenic Turnouts
  • Continue to carry out Public Awareness Program to gain broad-based community support
  • Explore and develop sources of funding for ongoing Byway activities
  • Represent the Byway at Annual Maine Scenic Byway Conference

Grindstone Scenic Byway Corridor Advocacy Assistance and Management Plan     

  • Assist in formalizing the Corridor Advocacy Group and prioritizing Byway projects for inclusion in CMP.
  • Complete inventory of Byway assets
  • Develop Public Awareness Program to gain broad-based community support
  • Explore and develop sources of funding for ongoing Byway activities
  • Represent the Byway at Annual Maine Scenic Byway Conference
