The area is also home to four post secondary institutions.

Husson University

In 2006, Husson University’s Presque Isle site moved to the campus of Northern Maine Community College. This partnership provides students with the many amenities of a college campus, including library and technology resources.  Husson’s offices are conveniently located on the second floor of the Christie Building.

Northern Maine Community College

Northern Maine Community College was established in 1961, and the first class entered the college in 1963. Today, NMCC impacts over 2,000 students annually through various programs. NMCC offers more than 30 programs in areas of study from automotive technology to information technology to nursing and much more. Ninety percent of its graduates are employed within six months of their graduation in real jobs or are continuing their education for a bachelor's degree.

University of Maine at Fort Kent

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is an accredited institution offering a wide variety of Baccalaureate and two-year Associate degree programs. Recognized as a nation-wide leader in its forestry program, UMFK also serves the surrounding communities with continuing education, non-degree courses, as well as a host of sporting and cultural events.

University of Maine at Presque Isle

Founded in 1903, the University of Maine at Presque Isle is an accredited institution that offers more than 30 four-year Baccalaureate and two-year Associate degree programs in four divisions. Through an ITV system, the University provides classes for its Houlton Center and coordinates televised courses from it's other campuses. The institution takes pride in serving surrounding communities with continuing education and non-degree courses, a fitness center, cultural events and sporting events, among other offerings.
