Blue Bag Curbside Recycling

General Guidelines for Curbside Recycling

  • Use blue bags only for recyclables, not for garbage
  • Use two blue bags for recycling
    -1st bag for paper products
    -2nd bag for cans and plastic
  • Tie tops of blue bags to keep recyclables clean and dry
  • Contact your refuse hauler for pick up schedule
  • Absolutely no glass will be collected at curbside
  • Do not mix paper with either cans or plastics; use 2 blue bags
  • Look on the bottom of plastic containers for the plastic codes
  • Blue bag recycling at curbside is a cooperative effort between your refuse hauler and the Solid Waste Department
  • Blue bags can be purchased at local stores

Remember:

  • Rinse cans and plastic containers
  • Discard caps and neck rings
  • Labels are okay
  • Flattening is not required
  • No Food Contaminated Items

Drop Off Recycling Information

If you do not recycle at curbside, you can take your recyclables to the 24 hour drop off area at the Presque Isle Recycling Center.
