Northern Maine Development Commission in Caribou, ME is seeking a Community Development Specialist/Community Planner.
The individual will, among other tasks:
- Provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and other program technical assistance and planning services to communities within NMDC’s service area.
- Direct administration of grant programs, conducting, and certifying low-to-moderate income surveys, researching other grant opportunities and grant writing.
- Prepares land use, natural resources, recreation, transportation, economic and community development activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university required. Preferred majors: Urban and Rural Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Science, Cartography and Natural Resource Management.
Experience: One to five years related experience i.e. Community Planning, Transportation Planning, Natural Resource Management, GIS/GPS; Community Development and Municipal Codes Official.
