Program Manager Entrepreneurial Development Wanted

Northern Maine Development Commission is seeking a program manager to work with entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in Aroostook and Washington counties.

The individual will, among other tasks:

1.)          Identify, locate and target entrepreneurial talent in the region.

2.)          Convene groups of entrepreneurs to identify the challenges and barriers entrepreneurs face.

3.)          Identify and build sustainable working partnerships with entrepreneurial resource providers outside the region that will provide entrepreneurs access to their services.  

4.)          Create a culture of entrepreneurship by developing programs and events that spark ideas and entrepreneurs, e.g. social/network gatherings, business plan competitions, inventor and innovation hubs, etc.…

This is an 18-month funded position, which will encourage and support a new generation of entrepreneurs in Aroostook and Washington counties and thus significantly improve the region’s chances to grow the economy and jobs through the support of small business success.

Qualifications: College degree and business development experience, willingness to travel throughout Aroostook and Washington counties, communication skills, and proven collaborative worker.
